I have some Yum spray in the shad scent that I spray on spinners, cranks and hard jerkbaits...that's about the only time I use any scent. I never spray soft plastics...although I don't really have a good reason for that...I just never have.

I carry little chapstick like tubes of BassWax, normally in my shirt pocket. It's very good on hardbaits, spinners, etc. I use crawdad, shad, garlic the most.

I also have all my plastics poured with the scent I prefer in them. That's the nice thing about having a handpour guy to make plastics for you. I can get custom colors, scents, and firmness all for less money than picking up plastic at BPS.

I use The Original Fish Formula in the following.
Shad:spinnerbaits, soft jerkbaits and jerkbaits
Garlic: Soft plastics except crawdads
Crawdad: Plastic Crawdads and Jigs
And all my plastics are also made by them so they come pre-scented.

I use Jacks Juice out of Georgia. It was the first ever fish attractant ever created and it works the best. Freshwater fishing go with the garlic or crawfish. Saltwater fishing is shrimp all the way.

I put hawg sauce on almost all my baits. I don't know everything that is in the sauce because it is a secret scent but it has some garlic.

Actually, Fish Formula was the one that started it all. They came out a good year before any of the rest of them.

Kick'nbass is probably the one I use most, but I also like Yum and Carolina Lunker Sauce.

WAR
I'm guessing your cranks float even faster, or possibly dont get down as deep using the Wax? Lot's of fly fisherman use wax on there line to help it float as well. I used to use wax on my line when fishing topwaters, but now I just use Powerpro it floats already LOL.

I've tried a lot of different scents but for the last year or so I've stuck with Mega Strike. Stays on well and I've hade good results. My fishin' buddy swears by Smelly Jelly. No scientific data on which is better, neither of us outfish the other by more than 3 fish a trip so the battle continues.

I have developed a complex about scent. I never leave home without at least a half dozen bottles of scent in the boat. Smelly jelly on my jigs, Kick N Bass on my cranks, with a dash of Nitro crave , mega strike, Yum,scent a strike, poor boyz, and spike it Lizard scent in the mix and lets not forget my favorite scent Bang.If I had to reduce it to only 3 , I would choose Smelly jelly paste, Nitro crave, Bang. These 3 are necessary to have.
