i just got on to see if anyone had seen this like me..... i'm excited for the guy but im kind of disappointed it came from Japan.... i mean it seems like such an American sport/record... i know that the Japanese fish for bass, but it just seems like it should be held by an American.....
they say it will be a tie b/c technically it has to be 2oz heavier.... and its only like 1.... not like anyone will believe that....... lets see how this works out

it does have to be 2oz heavier and is only 1oz heavier therefore making it a tie for the world record , I read about it earlier today . Jim

Stop trying to mess with my fantasy life thank you very much! (Joking of course. I'd be on top of the world and messing my draws if I could catch a 5lb fatty in reality. Most likely scream like a girl if I caught one that wieghed 6. )

Thankfully it was a sub species, so if it is the reported 22 lb 5 oz, than it will be one once too little. As if y'all didn't all ready know that!
But I'm really with akien on this one! I would MUCH MUCH MUCH rather see the world record caught in the US. But hey... if all goes well it will be a tie!

umm its 22lbs 5 oz, George perry's was 22lbs 4oz..... so the IFGA says its a tie b/c if its under 25lbs it must break it by 2 ounces...... but who has caught the largest bass in the world (legally, following all rules)? that japanese guy, not george perry.....
ohhh and dont say im a racist because i dont want the japanese fellow to hold it, i have nothin against him personally..... i just want an american to hold it, just like i want america to win every gold in the olympics... its ok, im gonna get it back

Jim's CT fish will be 21 inches long, but it will have a 20 lbs diving weight lodge firmly down the gullet.
