Default where to install a charger

Not much room in my boat to mount a charger. The only place with enough room is aft on thr port side, flat on the bottom of the hull. Looks like there would be enough space away from the outside of the hull. that is over the floatation foundation deck. Anyone ever done this and is it safe?

pacordon,

I don't know what type of charger you have, but you should make sure the user manual doesn't tell you not to install it horizontally. Some of them have thermal protection that doesn't perform to specs when mounted that way. They'll usually still work, but not quite as well.

1991 bass tracker 1800 LS tournament model. Not much room in the rear of the hull. Don't want to install it outside of thr hull. Did not know about mounting it horizontally. Thanks Nofear. Will check.
