We are in the brunt of the storm right now... our snow totals are cut down by the sleet and ice... we could see up to a 1/2 inch of ice... tomorrow will be an interesting drive!

It seems like they don't know what's going on snow wise. They're saying 6" instead of the 14". The sleet is what is going to be bad. and the drifting snow with the 30mph winds later.

Ryan, the worst it yet to come - or so they say. Just heard the worst of the storm will be passing through the Toledo metro area from 10-midnight.

I think we are in the clear now as far as the storm is concerned. Now we just have to wait for all of this white stuff to melt and the fish to begin their spring patterns lol. The snow drifted so bad here that I can't take a reasonable guess at how much snow we ended up with but if I had to guess I would say that we would be pushing 14" and maybe more. Britneys Pathfinder and my Titan are both in the garage and unless an emergency happens I don't see either one of them moving. We have a drift on our driveway that is atleast 4' deep and it begins at our garage doors and ends at the street so getting either of our trucks out will be no small task even with 4 wheel drive. Lake is mad because the window that he looks out of in the living room is covered up by a 5' snow drift so he can't see out. There is a snow drift on the front porch that is higher than our door knobs and I swear we used to have a bench out on the porch somewhere but I can't see it lol. If I look at our neighbors house behind us there is a drift that is high enough all I can see is from the top half of their backdoor and their roof. Highway trucks tried to clean off the highways and I44 today but they quit quickly because as soon as they could get some snow bladed off the roads the wind was blowing it right back on them and making it worse than it was in the first place. All you guys in the sights of this storm take care and stay warm. It's supposed to be a high of 9 degrees tomorrow and the low is supposed to be -10. Finally Friday it's supposed to creep up towards the low 30's and we already have a date with Lake to play in the snow. Dad said that I need to get a flag that they put on the back of ATVs so we won't lose Lake in a snow bank hahahaha.

They just said on the news that we have been declared a state of emergency for the first time in history. And I70 and I44 have both been shut down. I70 is shut down from Kansas City all the way to St. Louis and I44 has been shut down from the Oklahoma state line to Halltown which is over by Springfield. They said that I44 could be shut down for up to 96 hours.

What a mess!

Here in Central Indiana, the National Weather Service has us under an Ice Storm Warning until 7pm tonight. Everything is covered with ice and sleet. So far we still have electricity.. thank God!

To give you an idea of the amount of ice, I took this pic this morning of my ice covered truck.

We missed it all!! No snow, ice, or sleet just a little rain. 50 degrees and sunshine today. Amazing how the storm of the century completely missed us.

Here are a few pics that we took today. Most of the pics that show how much snow we got are on my phone, I might add them later though. As you can tell, I managed to get Britneys side of the driveway cleaned off before it got dark. It took me about 4 hrs just to accomplish that much. The high today was around 12 degrees and the low is supposed to be -15 degrees. We are supposed to get some weather in the low 30's to the low 40's in the next few days so I will get my side of the driveway cleaned off then.

Man, C-rig, that even looks colder than a Witch's Ninny! WE have light snow and sleet going on right now in North Georgia, but they aren't predicting much in the way of accumulation this time. Back in January we had 6" and it took two weeks for the temps to warm enough to melt it.

Thanks CMorg lol, it wasn't my idea of a good time.

And no bcklash, the shovel handle won't fit Britneys hands for some reason haha. I got the other half of the driveway done today, it took me over 3 hours just to do the second half. I have a total of over 7 hours invested in cleaning the driveway but it's white again since we are getting mroe snow now . Looks like I will be back at the shoveling gig again tomorrow. Normally I don't worry too much about clearing the driveway since Britney and I both have 4 wheel drive but we are having a bunch of people over Sunday to watch the Steelers beat the Packers and I don't want to make them all walk through snow, I am such a great host lol.
