Where can I buy some Sweet Beavers? BPS in Prattville doesn't carry them.

And I mean the fishing lures. Get your mind out of the gutters.

I've only been able to find them online. Tackle Warehouse has them, so does Tackle Underground. I don't think BPS carries them at all, I haven't seen them at the one here, or even online.

I would check with any locally owned tackle shops. Most of the smaller stores around here carry them.

If you got a small mom and pop store, they may not carry them, but they might be able to get them for you. We've got a store around here that will order a lot of stuff if you ask them to.

FnG, if you can't find them, don't be afraid to try a knock-off. YUM, Powerbait, Outkast, BPS, etc. all make them that will work good.

Fng, Gander Mt has them as does Dick's. I'm a fan of the Strike King's (smells like coffee!).

not trying to steal a thread but its a simple question so no use starting a new one and he may want to know the same thing. do you pull the claws apart or leave them attached together?

I was about to ask that after seeing the pics. I think you would separate them so they can move independently and displace more water but I'm not sure.

I have cut them. Both ways have worked for me.

Our Gander Mountain has them. And I have used the claws together and apart both and didn't really see any difference. So I usually leave them together. Actually, I like the action of them together better than apart.

I've never torn them apart and catch fish just fine on them. Caught most of my fish this weekend on them.

Colors preferred, I guess, would be the next question. Every color I've tried I've caught fish on them so it doesn't matter that much.

i have heard folks using them both ways. cut apart and not cut apart. depends on what the fish wants that day. haven't tried em yet. lol, haven't even gotten a line wet in way too long, gonna have to change that soon. but from what i have seen and heard they use em both ways.

Yeah, bps don't have 'em... it's a family oriented place, so they don't carry anything by reaction innovation. You can get them almost anywhere online. Tackle warehouse has them..... love that sight!

Ditto. I use a Slurpie Brush Beaver which is a knock off that BPS carries. They work well and look almost identical. I use the Slurpie because I order most of my stuff from BPS and I don't want to pay extra freight to get the Sweet Beavers.

An aside: I can't imagine why in the world Reaction Innovations uses those suggestive sexual names for their products knowing the largest fishing tackle dealer in the world won't carry them for that reason. That defies sound business logic to me. I would at least have a special name just to send to BPS that would be acceptable to them. Seems dumb to me.

You can buy directly from the manufacturer (must be over 18 to enter the website, LOL). Big advantage there is you can get ANY color they make, any product*, and it's delivered to your door.

Reason why BPS doesn´t carry Reaction Innovations products is the one you pointed out in small letters, they think that RI naming of the baits is too "graphic".

So if what you want is RI beavers you can always purchase them at RI´s site or at some vendor like TackleWarehouse.

BPS does carry an almost identical beaver style bait, it´s exactly the same in shape and size of the Smallie Beaver but I can´t say it sinks or moves the same way the original RI does. BPS Tiny Beaver

I´ve also tried other brands like YUM´s Wooly Bug but it doesn´t sink at the same rate the RI Beaver does.

I don't think that's the reason............. I like BPS but c'mon think about what you just said. What does BPS call it's "COPY"? Yeah the Tiny Beaver, so then why is R.I.'s name too "graphic" and BPS's bait isn't - BPS even copies the name?
The website, on the otherhand is "suggestive" (to say the least), but that shouldn't enter into why BPS doesn't carry R.I.'s line of baits. For whatever reasons, R.I. does not market their baits via the "BIG TWO", but I think it's their choice, not BPS or Cabela's
If you are offended by the website of R.I., try Tackle Warehouse. They carry a good selection without the suggestive graphics and is an excellent alternative source for those very good R.I. baits.
