Mounting that Wal Mart special on the paddleboat may not be too easy though..???
On a more serious note: Be advised that when you put a motor on just about any boat, and if you take your boat w/motor to public waters, Mr. Fish-n-Game will most likely want to see registration papers for it. |

I guess this might depend on the state that you are in but in Indiana, the boat does not need to be registered if it only has a trolling motor. Check out your local laws.

no, the lakes we fish are private. and there is a place on the back of the boat that says " mount electric trolling motor here ". i was just thinking what type i should get, like what power or something like that.

The lowest pound thrust you could find. A 36# is what I have on my 14ft jon, and it works for that, so a 36# would get you moving. I would reccomend minn-kota, but thats jmo!

30# would be the ideal size. You definitely don't wanna be going too fast in a little paddleboat.
You know why they call it a paddleboat? Because your 'sposed to paddle to get around 'acourse! |

Not a bad idea.... Out in louisiana, the crawfish farmers have a special type with a wheel that actually moves across the bottom like a bike would.

Briggs makes an outboard with a weed eater motor, I think it's briggs. Too loud and too slow, might as well use a trolling motor
Just like the, well, up to about 4 or 5HP motors, just get an 84 or larger, and a handfull of batteries, you'll have a few bucks left over for a charger |

Wal-Mart , Gander Mountain, and the Dicks have the 30 pound thrust for around 100 bucks i have one on my 12 foot jon and my buddy has the same one on his 14 foot jon and we haven't had any problems so they should work just fine for you.
