Question Baitcasters

Are they bad to backlash when casting out?

Ummm, yes they are, until you practice and get good enough to make them not...does that make any sense? Although everybody gets backlashes every now and then.

This is a good start, anyway. The only thing that will really keep you from backlashing is practice, though. Keep at it, and use cheap line, in case you need to cut it. Good luck.

too answer the question i would go with depends on how stupid your thumb is.. one must educate your thumb to use a baitcaster..

Yeah but my thumb still gets sometimers now and again, no matter how much I teach and train him. Plus those stinking branches, and dock pilings, and whatever else are always are beating me down

There is a learning curve, and EVERBODY gets backlashes, but the more you use them the less frequent they are.

perhaps, but they cannot backlash without angler input.
