No, smart considering you live in South Carolina where having all your teeth puts you in a minority group.

I was talking from experience.
I used to use my front teeth to bite monofilament line off, then they started hurting so I quit. Be careful with your teeth.

Yeah man you only get one set of teeth. Mine are pretty straight but they're already hurtin (at 17) from all the garbage they've been through. Lay off the soda, brush your teeth, watch what you bite, and skip tobacco. Your mouth will thank you.

Answer to thread title question: YES!
Response to highlighted portion: No doubt. Aching, For the love of Roland Mart...No, wait...Kim Bain (Ahhhh. That's better.) NEVER do that again. Quite apart from the risk to your teeth (If from The Deep South, see: "Teef") the possibility of being barbed is considerable. Beside blood loss and the looks you'll get from the Emergency Room staff of the Charleston Zoo you might incur nerve damage that'll cause you to dribble your grits when you join the family for the traditional SC Thanksgiving fare...Stuffed Baked Possum 'n Sweet Taters. You know how that upsets Grandma! I'm serious here; There are a lot of muscles and nerves in and around your lips and tongue. For instance, a trumpeter's embouchere ("Pucker" to you,) involves around 144 muscles and attendant nerves. The damage a hook could impart might leave you with the same numbness felt by someone immediately post-dental work but on a PERMANENT basis. You can imagine how this might affect your love life. Now go and eff up no more. Yer friend and advisor, Kindly Ol' Uncle Lancer |

Stupid, yes. Have I done worse in my life.....you BETCHA.
One thing that comes to mind right off THE BAT is me throwing a machete at an oak tree, trying to get it to stick. Yeah, the machete bent like a spring and flew back at me. I've got the scar on my chin to prove it...

You would have been "Aiken in yo mouf" with a little slip. But we have all done stupid or lack of senseless thought things.
We pulled out from the lake one day when we were teenagers and I noticed the boat (18' aluminum w/50 horse) looked weird. I got out and it was off the middle roller. I got pissed off because my buddy wasn't putting out when we tried to pick it up and move it over. I told him I would pick it up and I wanted him to push the boat over. So I got pumped, lifted, buddy pushed, dropped the boat, and wasn't paying attention to hand placement. I dropped the boat and my finger was between the boat and runner. I literally had to put my feet on the boat to snatch my finger out. It was flat as a piece of paper and throbbed like a mutha trucka. If I had been by myself, I would have proably cried. I remember stopping at Micky Ds for a cup of ice to soak my finger on the way home. Morale of the story, always plan ahead and know the consequences of your actions.

No don't use your teeth.......I use to open beer bottles with mine...how stupid is that?.....But my earliest really stupid stunt was thinking I could jump off the top of a highchair and hit the concrete patio sliding like that guy I just saw watching the Batman tv show.....We'll surpisingly enough, that happened to be the same day that I learned about how tv magic vs gravity don't really work....lol....I hit the floor alright but I sure didn't slide....just managed to knock my two front teeth out, and they weren't my baby teeth either.....needless to say that lesson has stuck with me for life.
