Not a bad price, and they even have a model for a yak with a rudder. I recently built my own rudder for my yak, might do a post about it when I get the time with the camera.

I was also thinking when I visited the shallow florida lakes, almost every bass boat I saw had a power pole. I started to wonder how one could make a manual device for such a purpose - looks like they figured it out. I dont think it would be heavy enough to hold the spook anchored though.

I wonder how it would do in high current situations like whatr I have round here? Every time I float the Piney River i feel I miss smallies because I have no way to slow down and fish due to the current. And by high current i mean about twice as hard as the video.

Cut some leg holes and drag the bottom with your feet.

Its depending on the weight of the stainless pole to dig into the bottom - I think that relatively lighter weight, combined with the hard bottoms more frequently found in heavy current, might make it somewhat less effective than on a redfish flat.

I have also seen, and am playing with the idea of a pole that you jab into the ground through a mount - of course thats not as snappy as pulling a chord and having it deployed like the product in this thread.

What about using a small drogue? That's what we'd use in the 6-10kt. Gulf Stream current when drifting around at night looking for swords.
