Unhappy A Sad Day

Well, the time finally came. We had to put our blonde lab Honey down. It was the right thing to do-she was 15 and her health was really failing-but it still was a sad thing to do. We will miss her.

“A dog does not live as long as a man and this natural law is the fount of many tears. If boy and puppy might grow to manhood and doghood together, and together grow old, and so in due course die, full many a heartache might be avoided. But the world is not so ordered, and dogs will die and men will weep for them so long as there are dogs and men."

Very sorry to hear that, Reb.
My Rott is 14, going blind, deaf and failing in the hips. I am definitely not looking forward to what you just had to do.

Just keep in mind, that you did what was best for your dog

That's a terrible decision to have to make, Reb, but it is the right one. Dogs become family, no doubt. We'll keep you in our prayers.

Ugh. So sorry to hear that, Reb. I, too, know from first-hand experience how difficult and painful that is to do. My condolences on your loss.

I'm really sorry to hear about your lab. I lost a pet in August and a very close friend lost her dog 2 months ago. It is such a hard thing. They become a member of your family. My heart goes out to you.

Sorry Reb, it can be one of the hardest decisions a man has to make. Know that you did right by your friend and now she can rest at peace.

Sorry for your loss Reb, I too agree that pets become family and it's never easy to let them go even when it's the right decision. My thoughts and prayers are with you buddy.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss too Reb. It's just as hard as saying goodbye to a family member.

Sorry to hear that Reb. People who don't love their pets that way just don't understand.

Reb, I certainly can sympathise. I've been there twice in the last 5 years, and I know the heartache. Honey will always be missed and never forgotten. It's the memories we keep forever. So very sorry for your loss.
