SC- Since you're not too far from where the Classic was held, it might help if you kept an ear out for what the pros were using...at least the leaders. Also, (and I assure you that you may catch some ribbing for this), try a C-Rig smoke or green pumpkin around the first drop off near the docks. You might not catch the biggest hawg but you should get some nice hits.

Good luck!

Try a drop-shot near deep water ledges or areas where bass can come up shallow to feed, yet be close to the drop-off to escape if needed. You could also try rocky ledges with a PNJ or drop-shot. These areas will warm the fastest, what bass are looking for this time of year!

Good advice, Lunk. It's all about the trending water temperature...

I'd try a hard jerkbait like the Rapala Husky Jerk or XCalibur Xs4. They take a while to get the hang of, but once you do they work pretty good.

Bassmaster.com has put some info on the baits/techniques used during the Classic. That should be a big help.

Good luck,
