Talking The Boat

Well, we worked for about 6 hours saturday, and 5 today. After 3 trips to Lowes, one to Ace, one to to True-Value, and one to Gander, we finished the bottom decked, the extension decked and got the bracing up for the front deck. Its all bolted/screwed, and glued down, and solid as a rock. 2 more hours of work, and well be ready for carpet, which should be here thursday.

There is ALOT of pics!

Foam in between the braces.

Slotting of plywood to fit on braces.

Dad Cutting plywood.

Bottom deck bolted on

The Extension of bottom deck to the front deck

Bracing for front deck

Angle iron screwed into aluminum deck

Me standing on the bracing for the pedestal (for the seat)

Were thinking about a toho rig livewell in the future. For now it will be a cooler. Has any one used one?

Looks nice, BUT, aren't you concerned with weight at all? Plywood, especially when wet weighs alot.... and aluminum sheet would have been a better option.

More importantly, is that pressure treated wood? If so, it will react with your aluminum and deteriorate it.

Also, if those are steel bolts, that will also react with the aluminum.

Im in the process or redoing my jet rig, and all these thing came to my attention. Good luck.

UH-OH!
Yeah, not the most flattering pic either
The plywood is marine grade. We dont have a big motor, just a 3.5, so weight is not too much of an issue.
Bolts are zic plated, I think....
