Used them on my 25 hp Merc. It might be the fastest 9.9 in my area. Tried that trick last summer, Thankfully, I wasn't running the motor, because the Gestapo checked it all out.I was fishing close to the launch using the trolling motor, or else I would have been ticketed.I was told to pull the key from the ignition and don't be caught running it unless there is a severe lightning storm , or another emergency purpose.I thanked them and kept on fishing.I get their point being a drinking reservoir, bought a 5 hp for when I need to go farther faster than the electric motor can take me.P N J

ROTFL,

I used to fish a 10HP max reservoir in Indiana. You should have seen some of these monster pontoons they had and everyone of them had a 9.9 sticker on the engine LOL. I means some of them had to be 50HP or bigger, but they had the 9.9 on them. I got stopped twice on that reservoir(Eagle Creek for those who are from the area). I just happen to have no numbers on my outboard(a little black magic marker works great) but being it was a older moter, and a older tin can, they never checked anything more than my fishing license and life jackets. BTW it was only a 15HP I have on it.
