Default Ouch!!! Not for the faint of heart.

This is an actual emergency room photo of a fisherman who lost
control of his high-speed bass boat in West Virginia. Warden's believe that he
was traveling at a speed of approximately 75 mph at the time of the accident.

He was unable to negotiate a curve in the narrow waterway. Unfortunately
for him, upon striking the shoreline and being eje! cted from the boat, he
landed back end first on an old fence post. You can probably picture what
happened next, but the attached picture really says it all. The good news is
that after about 6 months, this man made a full recovery after suffering
a shattered hip, broken leg, several broken ribs, internal injuries and
soft tissue damage. Doctors credited his recovery to the fact that the post
lodged itself so tightly that there was little or no blood loss.
Now that's got to hurt!!!
DON'T DRIVE THAT FISHING BOAT TO FAST!!!!!

With all the stuff I have in my boat it will run about 45 tops, which is plenty fast for me. Not much you can add to that-fortunately the guy survived. OUCH!

Yea I'm not squeamish, but I wouldn't recomend people taking a look at that pic unless they really feel they should.

Ive been in a boat doin 72. It was fine b/c it was the right conditions. Calm water, wide straight part of the lake, and no other boats in the area... i wouldnt do that in a real narrow part that makes alot of turns.. use common sense and keep a look out, and youll have no problems

Not to sound like I'm cold hearted or anything. But that gives a new definition for having a "woody". That being said, I feel sorry for the guy. I'm a EMT and I have seen my share of nasty things but that by far takes the cake. Sorry for sounding cold hearted but being an Emt you have to keep a sense of humor about things.

I can only paddle 1-2 knots per hour, sometimes 3-4 if the wind is just right.
