Welcome to the forum, Lee!

Depends a lot on the water temp. The lake I fished last Saturday had a temp that ranged from 57-60 and we caught them on spinnerbaits, crankbaits amd soft plastics. Seeing as how you are in Houston I'd say those would be a place to start.

Here in Houston, we have been doing well with Manns minus one series, rattle traps, soft plastics like the sweet beaver, tiki sticks, 4 inch grubs, and LIZARDS ), and top water baits, mainly the buzzbait & swimmin longer plastics baits. The bait monkey got me again for over a Cnote, going to take a bunch of Long A's out on our next trip and see if we can find a new favorite lure.

Has anyone tried one of those Willy Lures? I'm thinkin' about giving them a shot, but they seem a little pricey.

Or should a guy just stick with plastics?

I'm not sure how to post the picture, but internet explorer says http://www.willylures.com if that helps.

I'm lookin' at the first lure listed on the home page.
