I always end up taking bags of plastics out of the top of my tackle box in search of stuff or scissors or pliars, but would feel nekkid if I didnt go to the lake with all my stuff....jus in case!

You ain't alone, JB-happens to me every trip, too. That's why in my fishing log I have a section entitled "should have tried".

After the first time I used hawg sauce, I always make sure its available to me. I usually have a jar on the deck of the boat for when I throw plastics, jigs etc. The stuff just works.
The first night I ever tried it, we were just finishing up after dark, and I dipped a jig n trailer in it, and cast. First cast, bam a 4 lber. Ive used it ever since. |

I have a HUGE problem with rigging on soft plastics. I'll have my plastic, weight, and hook ready, and I tie my hook on with the best knot and then I realize I forgot to thread on the weight. Then I cut the line and retie the hook only to realize I forgot again! The reason I cut it was to put the sinker on! Where is my brain?!? I'm slowly getting better.

Joolz, have you tied on a hook/bait/whatever, clipped the tag end off only to realize you clipped the main line instead and have to retie-again? If not, you will
P.S. Package get there yet?

I hear ya flamez, I've done that several times. Really ticks me off. LOL One thing I seem to always forget is to take my polerized sunglasses with me. I'll be on the water and it will hit me. Dang!!! Not again. Once I got the boat to the lake and set it in the water, loaded all the gear and realized I had left the oars at home. This is a jonboat before I had the trolling motor.

Every time I get off the water I tell myself "I should have tried this lure". My problem is that I am so confident in my go-to baits that I dare not stray from them. I find that if the fish are not biting my go-to baits, I am either fishing them in the wrong spots or at the wrong depths.........or the fish just arent biting. I feel my time on the water is so valuable that I dont want to waste it trying some new bait that I am not used to fishing. What a dilemma.

Patchino, yeah it is tough to experiment and try new things when time is limited. These days, my fishing expeditions are extremely limited due to my time-consuming job, wife and two kids. So when I get out, I want to just catch fish. Of course, when I get home, I am thinkin' . . . yeah, I shoulda' tried this, that, or the other thing.
