Jerkbaits
Growing up in western KY, I fished a lot of ponds and areas with murky water. Jerkbaits were never in my arsenal of fishing. Now that I fish the great KY lake a lot, the lake becomes clear in the winter months and jerkbaits catch big sacks of fish. I understand that concepts or match the hatch and properly sizing your jerkbaits, fishing for suspended fish at certain depths, etc. But for whatever reason I've always been outfished when fishing jerkbaits. I've tried fast and slow cadencies, letting baits suspend for seconds, "walk the dog" types of motion, and several others. I can't seem to get it right.
Does anyone have any tips, cadences, pretty much anything that might help me or anyone else trying to learn this method? I really wish I could find a jerkbait seminar by KVD.... |
