Default Finally Agreed To Terms

.... with my builder and picked my lot! Construction on our new 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2468 square foot house, plus 2 car garage will begin March of 2010! Here's what she'll look like..... Different color combo, but same basic house.

Nice place. Personally I like letting my exes put that sort of stuff in their names. Thars a reason I keep bad credit. Don't own nothin' can't borrow on nothin, and they can't repo nothin.

Joking aside, I do wish you many happy times in the house.

Building a house is stressful. Me and my wife did it a year and half ago.

No offense, but I don't like the roof design. Will the third floor be finished? The dormer there serves no purpose if not and if so, should have a window and lose the mini fake roofs.
Also, what's with the dormer over the garage?...is this living space?

Just questioning the architectural design - complexity without value.

abbeysdad...the roof cuts are for arch design only. makes the home "look" more expensive. and it would look kinda naked if they weren't there. the dormer over the garage is attic space. without it you wouldn't have any. and EVERYONE needs attic space. i personally like the design, not for myself, but i like the design. having a father who was a structural detailer, and having worked for him in his "job shop" (temporary employment service), i know a few things about designs. this is the newest style of houses out there. very nice and easy floor plans are in these styles. no wasted spaces anymore.

It's a 2 story with 9' ceilings. Bama's right about the design, but over the garage is a bedroom and some attic space. The layout is perfect for us and my wife is happy (that's all that really counts... LOL).

First Floor: Great foyer, dinning room, kitchen, breakfast area, study/den, family room, mud room, half bath

Second Floor: Huge master with huge closests and bathroom, second bath with dual vanities, 3 big bedrooms, laundry room

Culln,

You had better call the architect. He forgot to add your fishing room! Just kidding. That is a mighty fine looking house.

That'll be in the shed behind the house I'm sure.

Hahahaha, the "tackle room" is also gonna be his bedroom after she sees all the money he spent on it. Better get yourself a cot pal.

Thats so funny , because I actually do have a fishing room in my house. Just off the garage , the only way to access it is threw the garage , it actually does keep my wife out , if your wondering. It is heated and cooled , has a hardwood floor so those pesky treble hooks wont snag....and I got a door sensor on it for my alarm , just in case !

Cullin,

Congratulations on your new home. May it be filled with love and happiness.
That said...Did you speak with your builder re adding depth to the garage so that any bass rig up to 21' might safely and comfortably fit while not impinging on the adjoining parking space? If not, please consider doing so now.

"Measure twice, cut once." But with you, Bama, might better change that to "Measure twice, mark it, measure again, walk away for a few minutes, measure again, go get Lisa, let her measure, cut."

I worked part time for a contractor for a bit. That was his favorite saying that I can mention on the forum. "Measure twice, cut once". I must have heard that a thousand times a day. One day I was watching him hang molding, he cut one piece, then measured for the next and started to cut it. I said, "Your cutting that wrong..." Before I could get out that he hadn't changed the angle on the saw he gives me the "I been doing this for so and so years! Don't tell me I don't know how to cut molding!"

He cuts, takes the molding, climbs the ladder, places the molding to find he had cut it wrong. I was done for the day, so I just walk around him and out singing, "Measure twice, check the angle of yer freakin saw."
