Irradiated Mudhole
Yep, got back on Anna again last weekend. Haven't fished it since the spring. Ran to the back of a small feeder creek and found two keepers on a laydown/beaver hut. Decided to stick with the backs of creeks and found bait fish stacked in each one. It was on from there. Sweet beavers, super flukes, RC's, and a custom painted trap caught fish all day long on Sat. Things were a little slower on Sun but still found some convicts in skinny water. Finished the weekend with a club tournament win and some fresh striper for dinner .
Custom trap choked the second striper but it was too short to take home. Also caught a 13" crappie that weighed 1.6 lbs that made the frying pan. |

Too cold??? It doesn't get cold in Alabama. Spend a couple winter months in upstate Wisconsin, Michigan, Maine, etc. Now that's cold.

The bass club just fished that radioactive mudhole, 3d. I had to work, but they reported some big sacks. Anna seems to get better every year for the club. Most members said buzzbaits in grass snagged them in the am, lipless and spinners on rock after the sun came up. But, the guy who won caught most of his with a T-rigged Baby Brushhog off isolated docks. Sound familiar? Hope to make it up there next year.

I would've had a bigger bag the first day but the bass were slapping at the trap and RC. Rolled two in the 2-2.5 range and one at 4.
Got to love those creature baits on docks!!! |
