Shaky head creature baits
I fished shaky heads more this year than I have in the past. I mainly used finesse style worms with a Senko thrown in here and there.
When you guys fish larger creature baits on a shaky head, what baits do you like to use? I'm talking specifically about using the shaky head technique, not just plastic on a jig head, if that makes sense. A couple of baits I thought looked interesting are the Big Bite Baits Flying Squirrel, (about half way down) and the Owner Yuki Bug. Anyway, what creature type baits do you guys like to use on a shaky head?

ohh... I like the squirrel! Looks like one to try for sure, I'll shaky head a baby brush hog a good bit in the summer!

One of my best baits this year was a 3" Big Bite Baits Yo Mama rigged on a 1/4 oz. Spot Remover Pro Model head. This rig was dynamite on Lake Erie Largemouth and Smallmouth this spring.

I like these because of the buoyant Elaztech plastic

Didnt catch amything on it, but the Yuki Bug has killer action on a shakey head... just squeeze the tail toget water out of teh air pocket every 7-8 casts and the tail floats up nice...

It's not a big bait but recently I've been doing pretty good with Netbait's Mini B-Bug and Smallie Beavers on 1/4 oz. football shaky heads.

I had some luck earlier in the year with a Powerbait Beast.
The Yuki Bug and the Flying Squirrel look great though, I'm sure I'll have some by next spring. Those sidewinders look great too. Man, I'm gonna need more shaky heads! BB

Jrob, both of those baits will work on a shaky head. Brush Hogs and Baby Brush Hogs are pretty popular around here for shaky heads and there is no reason why either of those baits wouldn't work. Also a craw bait like a Chigger Craw or which ever craw bait you prefer will work well too. When you use a craw bait on a shaky head the pinchers will raise up in the defense posture and draw a lot of bites.

Bush Hoggs, Baby Bush, Beavertails, chigger craws, flukes allo work with various shakey heads up north here during the warm months. To be honest I've never tried them during the fall months. Anyone use shakey during fall?
