Default Need help with Pickwick

I'm fishing in a club tounrmament at pickwick next weekend. I have only fished it a couple of times with little sucess. Any suggestions? where to go, what to fish with, anything would be helpful. Thanks

man.... I envy you. my buddy just got back from pickwick a month ago and had the most awesome stories and pictures of monster smallies. He was fishing fishhead spins w/ fluke trailers (all white) bumping bottom on humps in 20+ft of water by the wheeler dam. he also caught some awesome stripers... man i wanna go there. Good luck with derby!

Thanks for the advice, my partner mentioned some shell beds on humps but not sure where he was talking about. Will let you know how we do, we will be pre fishing Saturday and fishing in the tournament Sunday.

There is a well known community hole down by the dam, on the side of jackson island just sorta floating down that area. Lots of big rocks, but smallies and largemouth are always stacked up there and consequently, fishermen as well. Be super careful cause there are a couple rocks that can destroy a prop or nail your fiberglass.
