What is your the most regretable lure you've bought?
We talk too much about what is the best, what is the favorite, what is "go to" lure.....
Lets talk about some regrets! I mean regret, not the worst! LURE please. Thanks. |

I dont regret buying them, I've just never used them. I was at Big Lots 5 years ago and saw the Hellicopter lures $1.00/Pk of four. Bought six pkgs, never used them. For 6 bucks, I could've bought a good crank bait.

Thanks man, I almost bought Iron Silk earlier this year. Now I believe somewhere, somehow we all got at least one regret from Berkley! |

Hey Texasnitro, I catch lots of smallmouth on those MadMan craws you just have to rig them the correct way. As far as terrible lures definitely gulp and walking worms are the ones I regret testing, but I have caught bass on both lures.

I stick with Trilene XL now, H2O. I quit trying different lines since I always go back to the Trilene.
I'll say this about Berkley-I packed up that Iron Silk and sent it back to them and they replaced it with Trilene no questions asked. They take care of their customers, which is why they keep my business.

Spit n Image. Not that its a terribly bad topwater, but I was pretty young when it came out and from the looks of it in the package I thought I was gonna load the boat. Turned out that the action it produced was not in the league of the spooks or now the sammys.

How to Rig the Mad Man Craw The Mad Man crawfish tube can be flipped, pitched, rigged with a jig, split shot, or Carolina rigged. You can Texas rig with a wide-gap, offset shoulder hook. You can also use a tube weight, strip weight on the exposed hook shank, bullet weights or weighted hooks to adjust the presentation and rate of descent. Also checkout this site it explains how to properly rig it and fish it http://www.zeiners.com/madmanluresadvice.html . I also use them as jig trailers every once in a while. If you have crayfish in your pond/lake/stream these baits are amazing! I have literally caught bass on almost every cast with this lure.

yeah zook i wanted to buy a berkley crank but was advised not to so i didnt (a pro told me they sucked). but the lipless crank they make is ok. but the jerkbait is worthless. i do have to say that i almost use big game exclusively. you just cant break the stuff.

probly the lure i was the most disapointed with-but catch fish on- is the lucky craft 95sp live pointer-the segmented one- it moves nothing like you figure it would. but more of a jerk bait. at $21 i was more than a tad upset at the action.. other than that i found nothing wrong with the bait.-i only bought the one though-

The worst lure had to be a Dances Eel or the Dances Craw. I own both. Fish2win

this isnt really a lure , but its made by berkely. there catfish power bait. never caught any catfish on it, even in a pond freshly stocked! plus it gets stinky and very sticky when it gets hot. i hate vanish and i hate spiderwire xxx mono,it is horrible for casting on a baitcaster. i like trilene big game better, its cheap, its impossible to break, and it is very smooth.

I don't regret many lures but have 3 that are well known to catch fish, yet when I finally got one they never produced too well.
The first is everyones fav the jitterbug, i have never caught shyt on it the second is the old Rebel backup craw with orange pinchers, everyone told me to get it, i never caught crap on it, and the third is the old old timer bait the little george crankbait with a spinnerblade in the rear. I found one in a box ata garage sale, heres what they look like |

lil goerge are a specality useage baits. best used when bass are hammering a shad school near /at the surface. i like to fire the bait -it'll go a mile and a half-past the bait ball and burn it through the center of it. at times i let the bait fall to just below the school and reel it in full tilt.
the lil george is the best tail spinner. imo others try to copy it but never seem to get the right action out of them. i rarely jig it chunk and burn.. zooker
