I missed a MONSTER yesterday. He was maybe 5 pounds! My dad wasn't willing to drop off my equipment, so I had to borrow my grandpa's light short rod with 8 pound test. I was using that line, rod, and a tiny jerkbait, in a tree! The lure was floating, and the bass kind of just slurped it up.
I caught two other by the way, but I'll catch that biggun today.

If you are still fishing that light equipment today be sure to double check your drag. It is not as forgiving as a mistake on heavy baitcasting equipment. I will look for that picture of the 5 pounder Monday. Hopefully, I will have a pic to post after a weekend on Kentucky Lake. From what I read, most of the fish here are post spawn. It maybe a tough catch. Good luck!

Good idea!

Was considering paddling to shore but it would have killed the fish. Was in open water, and the closest shore (that wasnt a house) was 1/4 mile away.

Would photoshopping a water mark accross the photo be ok?

JRL, I wish you had shown the right end of the tape measure for the length. I don't think the fish is admissable.

Not a big deal.

Just makes me wish I would have took pics of some of the fish I caught this weekend. They were about a half pound smaller than that one.

Try to go with a friend so he can help photo the bigguns', don't forget to check the rules, those are good prizes you could win. I asked Kevin if I could throw in a few good buzzbaits, too.

I normally do go with a friend. But his wife has put him on restriction.

Then help him clean his garage, paint the house, trim the hedges, or fix his roof.

Maybe he could restrict her from talking.
