All of that and the Japanese are still treating the fish as an invasive species . You would think that they would see the benefit of having a world class bass lake to their economy . but whatever with this catch happening and being in the process of being certified I could just picture the stir is is gonna cause across the US in the "big bass" states of anglers looking to go out a prove the states better than japan . Well at least it wasn't enough to break the record all together and it will only end in a tie .

The old days of having a local fishing hole where the size of the bass were left to chance are over I'm afraid.

They will soon be able to genetically engineer bass and with that, all importance of a record will go out the window.

They are already starting it with Tuna.

haven't they already started doing that with bass , I think it was acouple months ago i read about the " tiger" bass or what ever the name of it was , it is supposed to be more aggressive and grow larger than the northern or southern strain of largemouth .

Thats pretty interesting.....I wasn't aware anyone was doin this.....no more huntin fer lunkers....now we'll be goin fer gorilla's....lol.
