Default So I had this idea

An idea about the pink floating worm. Wacky rig it with a light wire wire hook and do something that has been on my mind for a while. Rub the worm with some floatant.

So I did it last night and cast it out. Let it sit high in the water and twitched it. Bam fish hits it and it not a big fish but nice 2.5 chunk. I get a look from my all fly fishing charter and put down the rod.

My one fish a night / one cast...

Maybe tonight..

Thanks for sharing the idea. As a floatant, I've been using the unscented Alboline....a cold cream type cleanser for faces. I bought one bottle, then split it up into film cannisters, making each about half full. It's like an ointment until you get it on your fingers, then instantly turns into a liquid......spreading easily on the fly or your lures. The Alboline comes in scented and unscented, this unscented being the right one to buy. One jar will last a very, very long time.

Thats interesting. I never thought to try fly floatant on lures.

Mac, thanks for the tip. I had heard of using vasoline in a pinch as floatant, but not alboline. Will look for some when I run out of gink.

Capt - They're on a floating worm bite right now!!! Last two tournaments we've slayed them on the worms. Numbers and quality.

Got a bag of the monster trick worms to play with next time on the water!!!

I do know that pink worms work very well. But if the worm already floats, is there something about the floatant that makes it more appealing to the fish? Guess I'll have to buy a bottle to find out.

It creates water tension so the slightest movement sends out ripples.

Kinda like a fuzzy catapilar and that sits on the water and wiggles.. it gets hit very quickly. That is where I got the idea.

Thanks. I bought a bottle of that Albolene. That will really float a worm. If I cast too far, when it hits it breaks the water surface tension and sinks, but I can pull it back up and it will float. I can see a specific use for this in places you can't cast to but there is a little current to float the worm into those impossible to cast to places
