humminbird 1197 side imaging
my partner for this weekends tourney has one on his new champion, and this thing is sweet. i have the smaller version of the side imaging unit and love it but the screen on this thing is huge. i think i will take a dvd player to hook up to it and watch movies while we are running down the lake lol.

yes and no. the book is not much help but it still isn't too bad. it is capable of doing a lot of things that i still don't know how to do but as far as idling past a brushpile or something, recognizing whatever you saw and being able to mark and return to that spo..........it's not that hard.

That thing is really cool, but $3,000 is a lot of money. I've seen 997 NVBs for around $1,600 so that might be more of an idea for me. If the economy turns around a little and I can actually make some money.
The one thing I didn't realize about them is that you have to be moving and less than 6 MPH for it to work. Just something else to consider so you don't think it can work miracles like I thought at first. |
