RC LuckyCraft cranks
Being that BP is not going to continue the Rick Clunn cranks after this year I'd like to get a few. I must be a good worker because my boss gave me a $50 gift card for Bass Pro. The RC's are on sale for around $10 so I'd like to get 4 of them. I don't want the deep divers. So what I am asking is an idea for some suggestions on size and color that has worked for you. Mainly to be fished in mostly slightly stained to somewhat clear water. Thanks.

The RC 1.5 is hands down the most popular size and has produced best for me. American Shad and White Shad have been very productive patterns. For clearer water, Ghost Minnow would do real well.

1.5's are a very good shallow crank. As you're near Pittsburgh and the smallies in the rivers, I'd suggest at least one be chartruse, like the MS Crack. The white shad is one of my favorites. If you're only getting four, I'd say get two of the 1.5's and two of the 2.5's. Can't beat the price, but they are on clearance, will be discontinued, and when the current supply is gone - that's it. Shame it is a great lure.

You might want to look at one of the Wake baits too.....awsome bait.
My favorite 2.5 bait color is Green Copper. No rattles in mine thank you. Shallow diver. |

I'll chime in and agree with the choice of the 1.5 size. The pumpkinseed color has been a good one for me. Other colors I like are MS Crank which has a chartruese body color with a shad colored upper body, American Shad and Tomato Shad.

I have fished both the 1.5 and the 2.5 and by far the 1.5 has caught me more fish. I don't think you can go wrong with any shad pattern.

I have been thinking hard about biting the bullet and buying a few LCs. I got a Yo-Zuri crank from Zooker the year before last and I started fishing it late last year. I will try to post pics but Zook told me it was a proto from a rep and not mass produced. I have not been able to find it anywhere and the fish are wearing the paint off of it. It is a 3-5' runner and 3" w/bill (2.5" w/o), and in, from what I can tell, the ghost ayu color. It has been a fish catching machine on a clear lake I fish. But the closet thing I can find to it is in a LC. I will post a pic later and maybe some of you CB gurus can help me find a match.

I like the 1.5 as well, although I don't have too many of them.
Ghost Minnow is a great color on any bait. I like LC's Tennessee Shad too, don't know if it's available in the RC1.5 though. BB
