Varimax MotorGuide vs Traxxis Minnkota
Hello,
I own a 4hp/fourstroke Yamaha outboard motor. It has been running great since I bought it about 5 years ago, however, I have finally decided to also get an electric motor, transom mount, and mount it next to my Yamaha. I rent 12-14' jon boats at the lake where I fish. I have been checking the Traxxis Minnkota and Varimax MotorGuide, however, both motors don't have great reviews. The Traxxis is appealing to me becaue the handle can be place at 45degreess, easier to reach while standing, however, seems to have problems with the bracket and in general not well made. The Varimax by MotorGuide seems to have a lot of electric problems, specially some guys noted that the motor wouldn't turn off and the they had to disconnect the battery in order to stop the motor. Any suggestions? Ideas? |
