jb
less than a mile from the falls is a class 5 rapid that also contains the largest fresh water whirlpool in the world..currant speed i think is 45-50 mph. down stream side i think the distance is 6 miles is as close as a privately own boat can get..upstream i think it is 3 miles. the maids of the mist-falls boats- never leave the falls pool.. it is NOT as deep as you would think under the falls..

yes there is fish there- likely trout-but the currant speed leaves this area unfishable..

Tommy, I am basically a mutt. The Iroquois are the Seneca Nation tribes, big in comparision to the small Onondaga indian population here in NY.I am from neither of them. I am of Algonquin/Mahican indian heritage on one side of my family tree and Sauk indian/ Prussian/English on the other.A real Heinz 57 variety. If you were lost as hell and seen a camoflage boat in the front yard, you might have been by my house, but the chances of hitting the New York State lottery are greater than finding yourself driving by my house. I do want to get out and fish with you sometime in the near future. P N J
