Default water temp in relation to air temp

is there anyway to find out the ballpark of water temp based on the air temp or current weather conditions? if so could you post the way or a link or fourmula or what not, thanx

I don't think so, IL-too many variables. An easy solution is just get a cheap aquarium thermometer and stick it in the water when you get there. Then you will know for sure what the water temp is.

heres a good guage. Get your lure wet, then touch it...if it feels cold..the water is cold...if it doesn't feel anything..the water is lukewarm and if you feel like the water is warm..then the water is warm


Theres no formula...I use a pool thermometer that floats. I have it tied on a 50 foot string and i sling it out in my pond and pull it in after a while and see what temp the water is.
