Bomber Swtichback Cranks
Saw them in the 09 catalog and had to check them out at bass pro yesterday. They had one without paint on display so you could see the rattle system. I think the idea of being able to turn the rattle on and off is really cool, but i had to hit the one at the store fairly hard to "unlock" the rattle. Anyways, I bought one, and I cant the rrattle to work on mine?
Anyone try these yet? did you have this problem? BB

seen the clear display model like you are talking about at bass pro tonight. i agree that it is a cool idea but the one i seen at bass pro seemed like the rattle would roll in and out really easy (which sounds like the opposite of the one you played with).
no experience with them though sorry i can't help.

Here this might help i found this on Bass pros website under the Reviews, funny thing was there was a review about the same problem your having, so i copy/pasted this bit of information, hope it helps.
"This is a great new lure that allows you to turn the rattle on and off at will. This takes some practice to master though. Here's how you do it. First of all reguardless of whether you want the lure to rattle or be silent hold it belly up with the bill to the left. Then give the lure a tap until you here the rattle is free. Now think of the bill as a minute hand on a clock and rotate the bait clockwise to lock and counter clockwise to unlock. (If you hold the bill to the right then reverse to lock or unlock.) That's it! After a few tries you will be able to do it on the water without even thinking about it."

I looked at the reivew and tried that as well, I just figure I've now got a nice silent crankbait.

I liked the action when I fished it for about 10 minutes in a little unfrozen area of my pond after I bought it. Now it's sitting with my other cranks waiting for spring.
