Default Model Cars ?

I was messing around in the basement getting stuff ready for a garage sale. I ran across a few old model cars I built when I was a bit younger ( 18 years ago ) anyway , I could almost smell the glue , and the testors model paint. I got to thinking , Id like to build one of those again , just to reminess of a much simpler time. Turns out , apparently the kids dont build them anymore ? wally world doesnt have a single kit. Amazing. Did anyone else build kits , or still do , of has this pastime slipped away forever ?

I do it every so often. Not like a hobby, but I do it. I sold them all at our garage sale, 5 bucks each!

I just wish they made model bass boats!

Yea I built them for years, but I'm in my mid 50's now and my fingers don't work like they used to. I still got some nascar models built and unopened kits. I would like to try again but I'm afraid I would get pizzed when it didn't turn out like they used to.

Yep I built a zillion of them as a kid....my brother did too....Its still a big hobby with a large following but its not near as popular with the younger generation as it used to be.....back then we had model building, now they have Xbox360......can ya blame them?

Walmart stopped handling them a couple of years back....blamed lack of sales....I still pick up a copy of model car magazine occasionally just to keep up with the hobby....i'd like to build some myself, but Lord knows i've got too many hobbies as it is....lol.

Check out www.scaleautomag.com to find out more on car building.

Oh yeah....I got three Ratfink models unopened.

Awsome , thanks for the link. Thanks to all for the input. I may try to build one this fall when yardwork/fishing slows down...

Yea, I did a few of them. Screwed up a few too cause I'm one of those guys that tend to look at the instructions after something didn't fit together right, and I couldn't wait for the glue to dry.

BOOM! a car crash. watch em melt. wish we didn't do it now, lol. some were classics.

I built planes alot. Some even flew some just crashed. Built a 3 foot Aircraft carrier once and filled it with powder and gas and firecrackers. Lit the deck and pushed it off into a small pond. What a show till the gas ignited the shore grass. Stomped the fire out with the help of my buddies.

That night I got busted from the burnt jeans I was wearing.

Refused to tell my Dad how it happened. Silence got me a week in the house. Never ratted...

Default Model Bass Boats

Bassboss , I found a metal model of a Ranger 363 at , believe it or not , Big Lots ( something like a dollar store in Fl ) I first got it for my daughter , but I liked it so much it is on my desk at work . I get quite a few people commenting on it . The outboard turns by hand , the rod locker doors open . Came with a dual axle trailer too . Its pretty cool , looks very close to the real thing . They are out there , just gotta keep lookin .

When I was alot younger and alot stupider, I managed to get my hands on a dozen or so simulator hand grenades from an army buddy of mine at the time......they had the same kick as the real deal just in a cardboard container instead of the metal kind.....Lets just say there were alot of strange explosions heard around the town that year...lol....even dropped a couple on the deserted downtown main street one nite, just about a block from the police station....man what a racket, broke windows in a couple of shops....I thought fer sure we was gonna get caught that nite.
