They are now saying that as many as 500,000 might have died. That is a number that is really hard to wrap your head around. It's the same as if my town, Evansville, got wiped off the map 4 times. Ungodly. The tsunami in 2004 "only" killed 250,000. It has got to be tough down there right now.

It's a huge disaster needing the help of countries around the world. I hope they get it. I can't imagine what that must be like for those people. Where do you take your family member who is seriously wounded when the hospitals have been destroyed? My prayers go out to them.

Even the Red Cross, US Emabssy and the Presidential Palace have been destroyed. The Airport runways managed to fair much better, the releif effort will be focused around it

NOTE; Get in touch with your local churches; there is a big relief effort for clothing, first aid supplies and food, see if your church has or will become part of the effort
