prop pitch question
I chewed up my prop back in November, so I figured I would replace it with a stainless one. The aluminum prop on it says it's a 13X19. The mech at the local shop said if I was satisified with the proformance it gave me I could stay with the same pitch, but he thought a 13X18 would do better because the SS prop doesn't flex like the aluminum. Any thoughts from you guys?

i have always beentold to go two sizes smaller when going to stianles because ofthe fles so a 13x18 would do better than a 19.

I changed my 13x19 a few months ago. Went SS 13 1/4 x 22, picked up 5 mph at WOT, hole shot is great and definately noticed the improved handling in turns.

props
I would go with the ss prop if money isn't a factor. They are much stronger than aluminum and will give you a better hole shot and better top end. One thing to keep in mind in reguards to pitch is R.P.M.s. Increasing or decreasing pitch will greatly effect top end R.P.M.s.I went from a 3 blade 23 pitch to a 4 blade 24 pitch and lost 200 R.P.M.s on the top end, but gained a better hole shot and a much smoother ride in the rough summertime waters on Lake Of The Ozarks due to more blades in the water at any given time. Your best bet is to talk to your local marine dealer and decide what is best for your needs.
