Winch for boat trailer?
Hey guys, I'm looking to replace the winch on my trailer, and I'm not sure the pound rating on the one I have now. I have a 21' Sprint boat, which (they say) the hull weighs 1400#. Of course, this doesn't include the motor, fuel, gear, batteries, etc. I'd obviously rather go overboard and get something bigger than what I really need, rather than risk getting something too small.
So, what do you think? They've got them anywhere from 600# to 3200#...I'm thinking somewhere around the 2000# area, but I'm not really sure. Also, what's a good brand? Fulton seems to be pretty popular, but I have no experience with any of them. Thanks...

Yes Daniel, 2000# would work easily and Fulton seems to be the most popular.

I agree that 2000lb should do it. If you still aren't sure you could call a boat dealership and ask them what comes on their boat trailers.
