I have not tried his rod yet... but i have no complaints about Ike, as he is a very talented fisherman, and knows what he is doing... so what if he gets a little excited, or fired up when he's fishing. Just my $.02...

I dont care whos name is on it , or who daiwa sponsers , just as long as that perticular rod can handle 65# braid , and pull up tree stumps , thats the rod for me... and it does look nice , not too hard on the eyes

fast action means the tip is very limber. touchy i'd say. i have an abu medium witha fst tip. i like the fast tip meself, hehehehe. flippin? i dunno, i think you'd need a stouter tip. am i right bob, zooker?

Action refers to how much of the rod will bend. The faster theaction, the less of the rod qill bend, so like bama said, the tip tip will bend before the rest of the rod. As for flippin' I think having a rod with a lot of backbone is a must, and since the lower end of a rod doesn't bend as easily ion a fast or x-fast action rod, then it should be berfect. Someone's got a picture describing the difference between power and action. maybe they'll post it.

I love Mine!
I have a few of the Ike models and absolutly love them. Ive been useing the 7 ft spinning combo and Casting combo and have no issues with them at all. I have other more expensive setups bith Dawia and others and the Ikes are every bit as good! Go IKE in 2009!

A fast action means that the flex point of the rod will be in the upper 1/3 to 1/4 of rod from the tip. This action is suited quite well for many (but not all) bass fishing techniques.
Click here for an illustration of action: http://www.allstarrods.com/as_actiontaper.html

SBK, I think I'm speaking for the group here when I say I'm just about tired of all the negative comments. I haven't figured out yet if you really have a bad attitude, as it seems you do, or if you're trying to be funny in a sarcastic way. Whichever it is, it's getting old.

If your wanting a whoopin stick pick up an AiRRUS Co-Matrix 457 rod...7 footer in the medium heavy. This rod rocks for flipping with braid. Just took second place in a tournament ripping bass out of the grass on sweet beavers on 80lb test braid....

SBK I have met Ike 3 times and he is a good guy, But the tantrums, and things like kicking fish finder or this spitting deal he's going through, just tells me he needed his @$$ tore up when he was growing up like some of the kids do now days.
