Favorite/Best Fishing Glasses
So I have decided that it is time that I sport the bill and invest in some good quality fishing glasses. I was just curious as to what you guys think are the best brand fishing glasses for the money. I really don't want to spend more than 150 but I also want some good quality glasses that I will be real happy with when spawning time comes next spring.
Thanks in advance for the advice.

Well, I used to use a $20 pair from a local tackle shop, but now my new glasses have polarized sunglasses that clip-on magnetically, so that's what I use now.

I am hoping to get some Costa del Mar glasses next year in vermilion color. I had Solar Bats in green this year and don't have anything bad to say about them, they are a cheaper pair at ~$50. I just want to see more!

i have some cocoons, But you can spend 10-20 bucks and get a decent pair, I would get amber lenses for cloudy days, and then get another pair in green or gray for sunny days.
I have used amber some years all year around , but the last five i switch back and forth. |

Me and BB144 roll the same way. I just have a $40($20 on sale)pair of Coyotes. They work well enough. I can see clearer about five feet deeper than normal.

Maui Jim's
They'll cost you some bucks, but the optical clarity and polarization is outstanding. No problems seeing the fish on beds with these babies and they are lightweight, so no nose/ear soreness. Just be careful not to turn your head to quick while on plane as they will fly off (lightweight). Good idea to use a eyeglass lanyard while on plane!

I have 2 pair of Action Optics Delta HP-one gray, one amber. Naturally they discontinued them. If I have to get some different ones I've looked at Polar Eyes and H3O Polarized.

Costa del mar are probably the best. I have a pair of $40. strike king's that I use when fishing. No problems. Also have a pair of $15. dollar ones I wear all the time from Strike King. Same lense color but is noticeably different on the water.

Costa Del Mar's are fabulous. Maui Jim's are also fantastic. Just make sure yopu get a hard case for them, and when not on your face put them in the case. I also happen to have a prescription, so My last pair of osta Del Mar's cost around $200. That's $100 off normal retail, I did a search on the net and found a company who will make them and ship them, for a lot less.

One thing I highly recommend for ANY sunglasses: Chums, or something along those lines. When not being worn, which is pretty much never once the sun comes up, my sunglasses are hanging around my neck. Keeps them safe and out of the way. I know without a doubt if I didn't use the chums I would have sat on/broken/lost them a long time ago.

I used to buy Stren sunglasses from Cabelas. Two lenses cary case and cleaning towel. 29.00
No longer available.. so I bought cheapo 50 buck Orvis glasses and they are good. Last two pair came from the 10 buck rack at BPS.. When I worked Bay Charters as a mate I only wore Ray Ban Wayfairers and lost about four overboard. Capt Mike
