Default Simple Question (I hope)

My question revolves around Wacky Rigging a worm. In most cases I throw a wacky rig weightless, however if I choose to add weight would it be better to use a slip weight or potentially a snap weight for easy removal? How bout a weighted hook? Just wanted to see what others may be doing.

Hope all is well!

A split shot about 14 inches up the line will work very well on a wacky rigged floating worm.

How about for something more dense like a senko?

The beauty of the wacky rig is the weightless action of the worm dangling from the center of the hook. I would not use any weight with a Senko.

There is a relatively new wacky rig hook that has a wieght made to it. It has been engineered to maximize the action of the bait as it falls. One of the pro's won a Tx recently using this hook/rig.They are made by Zappu or Jackel. The wacky rig is nothing new it been around for years. It is the in style finesse method at this time. Like the shakey head was last year. Jackel is coming with a 3/16 size to go along with the 1/8 and 1/16. This is a great follow up bait when the smallies are on a topwater pattern early. (remember guys all this stuff is made by the bait monkey)Fish2win

Not only those great options, but even a jig head could be used. I think they call it flickshaking, but to it's just a jig and worm rigged wacky. Not results yet as I've only tried it a couple times, but I know it has great potential.

When wacky rigging first came popular we weighted them with finish nails in 1 end of the nose.

Bassin',

I thnk those heads are designed more for Flick-Shaking or Shakey Heads, rather Wacky Rigs. Although, I do like the shape of the top head design.

Bassmaster.com ran an article on the wacky jig. If you go there and type flickshake in the search box it will pull up the link. I tried to paste it here but it wouldn't take...
