Cheap Rod Storage Tip
I bought a Berkley Horizontal rod holder tonight for my sticks. I bought the horizontal one because I fish 7' rods and I'm constantly banging the tips against the ceiling in my garage when I'm picking them up to put in my truck. Well after I put it on the wall and stuck a couple of rods on it I noticed that they were bowed quite a bit because of the weight of the handles. I didn't like it so I took my rods off. I didn't want to just leave my rods leaning against the wall so I got the idea to leave the handles on the floor and use the rod holder to hold the tips against the wall. By doing this I doubled my rod storage from six rods to 12. I will probably still end up buying or making a horizontal rod storage unit that will support the rod handles so I can get them up off of the floor and hopefully keep from banging the tips on the ceiling.

I've used a setup like that in the past-works real well.
