Default Anyone ever seen a BPS qualifier spool without holes?

I bought a 5.2-1 PQ a few months back and never paid much attention to it untill last night when I was respooling it. I noticed the spool is a bit smaller in the center then any other PQ i've had/seen and has no holes, just dimples.

Was new in the box from BPS..

Thanks

The lower gear ratio PQ's have deep spools with no holes.

Yeah, I wondered the same thing when I bought a 5.2. The 4.7 and 5.2 have the deep spools, the 6.4 and 7.1 have shallow wiffle spools.

This because low speed reels are for techniques where you are casting for distance. THe heavier spool stores inertia which aids in longer casts. A wiffle spool is lighter and will start spinning easier making them better for lighter baits and softer casts like flipping.

I could try to sit here and explain it, but it'd be easier just to you tube it!

I just tied a double overhand knot and spooled it right up. after one or two wraps it doesn't slip..
