Icast 2010
Kevin,
And anyone else who may have attended ICAST 2009, did you find the show worthwhile as a fisherman, all value as a website owner aside? I was curious about attending the 2010 show in Las Vegas, since I can sort of justify it as an excuse to go see family out west too. But as an angler, is there a big value to me as far as being able to put my hands on a lot of new stuff, maybe pick up some bargains, maybe even learn a few things, and just be surrounded by cool stuff? I just wanted to get your take on it, since you attended one.

As I found out last year, Icast is not open to the public. So, if you go out west, you'll only be able to see family.

Kinda like the NAMM shows (musical instruments/gear), it is not open to the public, however, passes can be acquired through companies/sales rep...Its not impossible to get in.You just have to rub shoulders with the right contacts...If you have local tackle shop,or manufacturing near you.Found out if they participate in ICAST..Then suck up to them like a ba$$terd,lol......(I got an oppurtunity to go to NAMM through a music store 2 yrs ago,but couldnt afford the travel to Cali)...So its not impossible.
Most likely, you have a tackle show near you...I just found out we had one in Arlington (hour away) a little while back....Apparently,it wasnt that good.

Yep ICAST is open only to media, sales reps, manufacturers, etc. The lowly general public is not good enough to attend, even though we are the ones buying up the majority of what is being revealed at these shows. Man, I would love to attend the 2010 show, sounds and looks like it would be a blast!
