Worm colors
What colors have you found work best overall for your plastic worms? I thought shades of purple worked pretty good, what do you guys think?

Interesting point jonny.
I always figured that flakes kinda made the bait murky in the water. If you have a mix of black and green it mades it look darker. I kinda like the idea of flakes because if the color is mixed the fish can not see it as clearly and most fish aren't one solid color. Kinda hard to explain

Watermelon red flake. I've caught more on that color than any other.

IBF, welcome to the forum! Didn't realize you were new. Purple is a good color-one of my favorites is a purple/white tail worm-but for the most consistant fish catching natural colors like watermelon, watermelon/red and geen pumpkin produce under most conditions-at least that has been my experience.

Thanks, this year I'm gonna get into bass fishing more then the past few years. I've been casual about it, but it's something I like to do and I'm going to try and do it more.

i try to have only 3 colors each style, which are pumpkinseed ,watermelonseed/andor green pumpkin, and a high visibility bait like electric grape or june bug.that is what i use for ribbontail and trick worms.for 4'' finesse worms,i like watermelon, pumpkin, and a shad lookin color, all for clear water.for lizards i like watermelonseed and black/blue tail. i try too keep my color selection to the bare minimum,so i can get better rods and reels, and maybe even a boat!

Try this
One of the first things my dad taught me is when you are fishing a lake that gets fished a lot, you need to throw a different kinda worm. if you are used to throwin a lot of green or brown... try to throw a spotted orange or a yellow with some green...
i caught a 5lb beauty on a bright orange worm with brown spots |

Am I right by saying use more subtle colors in clear water and a little more wild ones in murky or stained water?
