Default Food for fishing (borrowed idea from another thread)

So what food is your "must have" when going out for a day of fishing (please no banana comments as we do not want to offend certain unnamed members)?

My staple is PBJs. i live off them during fishing season. By the time the Fall ends, I can't eat another PBJ until next season.

Also, I often have good luck when I bring Lipton sweetened iced tea with no lemon. The only problem is that it comes in a glass bottle. I have a no glass on boat rule so I have to poor it into another container.

Pringles are good too.

The beef jerky is a must. I usually carry a gaterade and water then maybe a ham or turkey sandwich. I try to pack a couple extra drinks and food if I have a co with me as well.

I used to make a "real" lunch consisting of ham sandwiches with cheese and lettuce and all that good stuff... you know, chips, ice tea, candy bars, etc.

It takes too much time and effort to make all that stuff and worry about getting tons of ice every morning.

Now I just make 6-7 PBJ's and put them all in a huge ziploc bag and bring about 5-6 bottled waters. I can kill about 5 PBJ's in a day's outing and usually keep the 6th for the ride home.

What's funny is, I love PBJ's, but never eat them unless I'm out on the boat. I go through so many jars of peanut butter it's ridiculous.

If I am fishing a tournament where I don't want to stop to eat I will bring Clif Bars and Gatorade. That's what I would eat on long (up to 100 miles a day) bicycle trips. The combination keeps your energy level up all day.

Nicotine, caffine are the only food groups I have to have.

Usually I will just slip a couple of granola bars into my cargo pocket and go with it.

I usually freeze 2-3 bottles of water or gatorade the night before, and before i leave in the morning i throw them in the tackle bag, and off I go. I usually don't take food with me when fishing.

I normally fast while fishing. If I do bring something, its more often than not pringles or lays potato chips.

Well this all depends we are taking my boat or someone elses?? If we are in my boat I take some water and a couple of sandwiches and my Skoal. If we are taking someone elses boat, well.... Instead of water I have to take my beer, and all the rest stays the same!

I get a sandwich from a local deli (usually turkey club or italian), some gatorade, and a pack of Marlboro Lights.

Grizzly snuff, monster or amp on the way, maybe 1-2 on the boat. Granola bars, gallon of water or combination of water and gatorade. Down here I drink a lot of fluids. if I remember, PBNJ rule!! Tourneys pretty much the same, do bring the bud light on occasion.

Whatever I can get the fastest out of the fridge or the cupboard without waking anybody up... I love the premade pbjs my wife gets for the kids, water, sunflower seeds, and whatever I can eat with one hand and fish with the other!
