I saw the first beds forming for the spawn out this way. The earliest ones usually happen the first 2 weeks of February.

you're evil! I miss the heated power plant lakes in Texas. I can't find any in North Georgia!

Ok, so it´s the middle of the winter, am I right ?

Weather for today down here in my neck of the woods:

Clear sunny skies
No cloud cover
Temps in the low 80´s.

Sorry, I just had to rub it in.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming Super Bowl and then 2 weeks later the 51st running of the Daytona 500! During the winter I try to divide the time up so that it does'nt seem as long.

The other day there was a thin film of pollen on my truck. I'm thinking within 3 weeks down here it will be consistently nice. Not that 65 is bad, but we are still getting cold fronts every few days.

One signal that I saw the other day that told me that Spring is getting closer was the sighting of a robin in my back yard perched in a tree. Its not common to see them this far north until late February and March.

Winter sucks. Especially this year. All it seems to do is snow here in Long Island. And it's way too cold for these old bones.

Hoping to get down to sunny and warm West Palm Beach in Florida the end of Feb.

For me my fishing season has already started. 1st with getting my tackle organized, and needed tackle ordered. Feb I start to do a complete over haul on each of 8 reels. Respool as necessary.

Will be on a NYC reservoir as soon as it's ice free and the water temps are 40 or close to it.
