Default Big Smallies

Got these pics from C.K. who fishes Federation tournaments. The biggest went 19.75" long with a 18" girth and weighed 6lbs. The other one was over 5lbs. Big one might be the third biggest smallie caught in his state. Just wanted to post something to keep you guys who are iced over going.....

The bassinbandit caught one on Claytor a few years ago that went over 5lbs. The state record is 8+ lbs caught from the New River--same fish was caught by a 12 year old 2 weeks later and weighed a few ounces less. Smallies are a blast they will put up a fight.

C.K. is from the Mid-West and catches a lot of smallies. Pretty much all he fishes for in his tournaments.

I'm really looking forward to encountering one of those Big Bronze Beauties, maybe this will be the year I can finally pose with one of the big girls.

Head about 500 miles northwest and you'll find the ones pictured above. I believe he caught and released these late in the fall before the lake iced over.

Brookville Lake is one of the best Smallmouth lakes in my state. Alot of the local guys say that's where the next State Record Smallmouth (7#4oz) will come from. Its only about an hour south west of Indy.

Those are some FAT smallies! Most of the 19-20" river smallmouth I've caught over here wouldn't make 4lbs. Those lake fish get some serious bellies!

That's what I've noticed about our river smallies too, they also have more of a greenish color to them, there just not the same.

That is about the size I catch on the Susky BTW.. when I guided there.
Hopefully some of those tanks are going to be caught on our Northeast Get Together.

Hopefully so, and one things for sure we can always count on top quality pics. from the Captain.

We're hoping to do the same at the Kentucky Lake Get Together too.
