Gloves??
I know I make a lot of weather related jokes, but this is the first year where I was going to the water this often this late in the year.
Does anyone have a suggested glove that they wear while fishing? Thanks

If it is not too cold out (high 40s-50s) I like these from Cabelas: http://tinyurl.com/7ff7c8
If it is cold (20s-40) I am still looking a pair that I would recommend. I have about 5 pairs that I have tried and they are either too light and my hands get cold or too heavy. The heavy ones that I like best are some type of hunting gloves, not sure of the name. They are waterproof and have Thinsulate, but are a little bulky. Stay away from Serius gloves, they are $30 a pair, not waterproof, and not warm at all. I edited to link to the correct item, they are a lot like the ones islandbass has. Glomits they call them. I use gloves made by Kenai. They are mittens that fold back and reveal open fingered gloves. I used them this morning in 20 degree weather.

Depends how cold it is.
For budget minded people, get a couple pairs of fingertipless wool rag gloves. Cheap. A couple pairs because when one gets wet you'll have an extra. Got some cash? - Simm's fingertipless - or the ones w/ the mitten that folds off. For real cold and you're getting wet, neopreame. |

rule of thumb, carry 2 or 3 pairs of gloves with ya...
I have one pair of neopreen gloves that are water resistant, then also have a pair of cotton mittons that the fingers can be covered or uncovered, then also another pair of gloves that the finger tips are cut off. You need one pair inside you coat to stay warm, and alternate when you hands get wet or cold. |

When it gets really cold I'll put a pair of those mini hand warmers in the palms of my gloves, those little warmers work great.
