Need tungsten?
I've seen a few states are banning lead sinkers, as Canada has, so I've been looking at tungsten. Found this site that has about the best prices I've found. Tungsten is not cheap, but this supplier has "reasonalbe" prices when compared to others especially the "brand name" suppliers. They have nice selection, offer several colors and I've actually bought some. I've resisted the switch to tungsten, basically due to the cost, but at these prices I can try out a few.

How is the quality Bruce? Did you go with the insert or insert free weights?
I started off using Tru Tungsten which were insert free. They were excellent quality with no rough spots or sharp edges and the inside of the weight was smooth and polished. They were dang expensive though. That's why I only bought a pack here or there. BB

Anthony, I went with the weights with the insert. Quality looks good to me, I have some of the Strike King without the inserts and I really haven't used either yet and don't get the big deal with insert vs. non-insert. The inserts are clipped very tight to the front of the weight, not sticking out like many I've seen. Each weight was individually wrapped so they won't bang around in a box and chip the paint. I just bought the black, I didn't go nuts with the different color weights, too dang expensive to have dozens in different colors, basic black works fine for me. I didn't buy any small ones (started at 1/4 oz) and didn't buy any above 3/4 oz, which should suit my needs locally, just to give them a try.

Flippin' weights are a little more expensive than the ones I sold this winter. But I didn't have the sizes or the colors in stock that you can find on the sight. Their weights look similar to the Tru-Tungsten and Tungsten Weights Flippin' Wts (both no longer in business) which is good. I may need to contact them and see if I can work "A DEAL, deal! Maybe the guy's a Republican. "Business is business," right? "

Thanks Bruce. Don't really know if the inserts really affect sensitivity that much, but I've always just kinda preferred them without. If they're trimmed nice and close on the rear concave portion so they rest on the nose of the bait then they should be just fine.

ally's tungsten
I've used Alley's for about 3 years now, and they work great. The paint stays on longer than the tru tungten ever did.I get the insert free worm and flipp'n weights. I highly recommend both. Bill

I used Tru Tungsten because they did not need inserts and felt so much more sensitive. I just don't get that feel with inserts.

As many as you want Sam, they are all priced individually. They are available with inserts or without, but the non-insert weights are more expensive.

Bruce, in the pics, they both seem to have inserts even though one is listed as insert free?
Any idea why the insert free are more? I would think they would be less. Smitty you will get a PM before I do anything. Heck, you introduced me to Donnie and have been searching hard for my Twiddle Tails, you definitly have earned my business.

Insert free gets individually polished to eliminate any burrs where the line passes through them and on the ends. The ones with inserts are not polished, less labor intensive, therefore cheaper. Supposedly the insert free are a bit better for sensitivity when contacting underwater objects - how much is debatable IMO.
