Its florida so really hot and their is only one spot to throw in so I throw right in the middle where it is totally open because weeds block any other spots to throw.

Dude...THE SAME THINGS YOU USE TO FISH ANYWHERE ELSE! You have to try things out, find out what works..and voila, you have your answer. You're not gonna get a magic answer because NO ONE ELSE IS FISHING WHERE YOU ARE FISHING!

I agree. Just go out and try some things. Fishing patterns change day to day and from lake to lake. What might work at one lake might not work at another. Experiment with different things and what people have already told you on this forum.

Ironman-Ken is right-there are no magic answers. You just have to try different things and see what the fish want. And Peter is right,too-patterns change from day to day and often hour to hour. If you watch the Saturday fishing shows or read a fishing magazine like Bassmaster you will notice the pros often have several different rods on the deck each rigged with something different. The reason? They are trying to find what the fish want. I recently read a report that one of the pros had a dozen diferent rods on the deck and he used every one of them. When I go out I have at least three on deck and umpteen more stored in the rod box and several more in the rod box for that reason.

When I go out I start with lures that work based on the conditions-this time of year soft plastics, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, cranks and topwaters. If none of those are producing I start experimenting-changing colors, size of baits, different baits, etc. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but rarely do I get skunked-I may get only one dink, but I usually get something.

If theres one thing that just gets under my skin on fishing messageboards, its questions like this one. Its just like..for the love of God..its FISHING..go out and do it. Its like people want you to cast for them, then present the bait for em, then bring it in, and hook the fish..and do everything..what happened to just going out and experimenting until you learned what worked and what didn't? I'm quite sure thats how most of us learned to do it. You gotta get out there..not ask questions about "what should I use to fish?" or "whats the best bait?" "what should I use in Lake X in my hometown?" I'll get off my soapbox and stop...just wish people would actually go out and fish and not ask a question about every little thing, especially when they don't have a real answer.

Ummmm...well its true that theres no magic answer, but every single pond I have ever fished I can catch bass on this one lure sooner or later. 7.5" red shad culprit t-rigged w/ a 3/8oz weight. Fish it and bounce it across the bottom. THis has worked in every single golf pond I have ever fished, and I live in fl too, so it'll probly work.
