Need Input?
I have just purchased a brand new skeeter zx 225 2 weeks ago. The boat is a single console but I purchased the other console to go with the boat for if I sell the boat way down the road. I explained to the dealer to order the other console and I was going to just keep in my garage. I do not really like the double consoles personally, but I figured it might sell easier later if I just had it. The first and only time on the water last week my hummingbird side immage did not work properly so I took the boat back this week to see what was going on. They called me and said it just needed to be reset and my boat was ready. Upon going to pick up my boat, to my huge surprise, they had installed the other console. They said it happen to come in that day. Now remember, I do not like the double consoles and I thought I took my boat in to just get the finder checked out. Now I have a very expensive boat that I am not happy with. They said they can take it off and re-do the fiberglass where it was attached. Now I have a very expensive boat I am not happy with OR I have a very expensive boat that is going to need fiberglass repair for something I had nothing to do with. This just doesn't seem right to me.
Anyway, does anyone know if this can be repaired like NEW? Any opinions on what others would do in this situation? |

I would be VERY angry if they drilled any holes! If they didn't make it like new I might just try to talk to Skeeter. I'm not too familiar with Skeeters though, my buddy's ZX200 consoles are molded in and part of the top cap. On my Stratos I removed the second console and had to use fancy big headed screws to cover the holes but you can definitely tell it was there.
I bet a good fiberglass man can make it like new again and I sure wouldn't pay for him to do it. Dealer should pay. |
