South Florida Bass Fishing Report (Everglades 5-13-08)
It's still great fishing for largemouth bass in the South Florida Everglades this week. Yesterday my friend Luis and I were out and boated 33 bass in about 6 hours of fishing up to 4 lbs. We did see some bigger ones swirl on our surface worms but they wouldn't commit. The water was so clear and calm yesterday that the fish were a little spooked. You need clouds and wind to break up the surface clarity this time of year.

Dont know what it is lately, but all of the bass around hear have a small "california" belly going. I caught some one pounders last week that looked like they ate baby turtle.
That one on the right looks really healthy!

They are all healthy looking now but if the rain doesn't cool off the water soon and add some fresh oxygenated water they'll be stressed. Yesterday we boated 76 and missed just as many.
